Get started
Install on Linux
Install the .deb on Debian or Ubuntu, or the .rpm on Fedora or RHEL.
What you need
- A 64-bit (x64) Linux.
- For the
.deb: Debian, Ubuntu or a distribution based on them. - For the
.rpm: Fedora, RHEL or a distribution based on them.
Install
- Go to the download page.
- Download the
.debor the.rpm. - Open a terminal in the folder with the download.
- Run the command for your package. Use the file name you downloaded.
sudo apt install ./glauco_0.3.1_amd64.debsudo dnf install ./glauco-0.3.1-1.x86_64.rpmOpen Glauco from your app menu, or run glauco in a terminal. The package installs the app in /usr/lib/glauco and the command in /usr/bin/glauco. It also registers Glauco for glauco:// activation links.
The first time Glauco opens, your 14-day trial starts. Every feature is on, and you need no key and no account. See The trial and free mode.
Updates
The package adds the Glauco repository to your package manager. Glauco then updates with the rest of your system:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgradesudo dnf upgradeGlauco checks for a new version every hour. When there is one, a notice at the top of the window names it, for example Glauco 0.3.2 is available. Update it with your package manager. Run the command above, then quit and open Glauco again.
The first time dnf reads the repository, it asks you to import the signing key. Accept it when the fingerprint is 4D14 99BE 1DA4 0F11 F653 F4E8 51CD 6F5E 3FF4 AE9A.
Add the repository yourself
To install Glauco from the repository instead of a download, add the repository first. The commands write the same files the package writes.
curl -fsSL https://apt.glauco.app/glauco.asc | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /usr/share/keyrings/glauco-archive-keyring.gpg
echo "deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/glauco-archive-keyring.gpg] https://apt.glauco.app stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/glauco.list
sudo apt update && sudo apt install glaucosudo tee /etc/yum.repos.d/glauco.repo <<'EOF'
[glauco]
name=Glauco
baseurl=https://rpm.glauco.app/x86_64
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
repo_gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://rpm.glauco.app/glauco.asc
EOF
sudo dnf install glaucoTo stop updates from the repository, set Enabled: no in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/glauco.sources, or enabled=0 in /etc/yum.repos.d/glauco.repo. Upgrades keep your edits. If you added the APT repository yourself, delete /etc/apt/sources.list.d/glauco.list instead.
Uninstall
sudo apt remove glaucosudo dnf remove glaucoYour settings and license stay in ~/.config/Glauco. Delete that folder to remove them too. If you have a license, first remove it from this computer to free the install. See Installs and seats.
